1 說明會中提問 Q:比賽是否有分中餐和西餐烹調的限制? Q:Is   there any restriction for cuisine style, like Western or Chinese only?
A:沒有。比賽的重點是要能夠利用指定的食材做出料理, 並無任何限制。 A:   No.This competition is focused on using the assigned ingredients to cook.   It’s not limited to specific types of cuisine.
Q:有突發狀況是否可以做隊員的替換? Q:   Once the team is selcted for the preliminary competition, can the team change   one of its member?
A:可以,因為這個比賽是以機構作單位, 所以只要是屬於同一機構, 更換人選是允許的,   不過不推薦. A:   Yes. Because teams entered on behalf of the organization they represent, so   it is ok to change members after the team is selected for the preliminary   competition
Q:是否可以攜帶已經做好的醬汁? Q:   Can I bring prepared sauce?
A:不行,不可以攜帶任何食材. 評審長在進場比賽時會"搜身",   確認競賽選手沒有攜帶任時半成品或是食材進場. A:   No, you are not allowed to   bring in ANYTHING. The head judge will check your pocket and socks to make   sure no foods/ ingredients can be brought in. You must use what is assigned   and prepared for for you by the organizer.
Q:書審報名的四人份要求連同照片內的份量也是? Q:   The picture on the application- does it have to be four-person portion
A:不,照片的份量一盤即可,四人份要求是方便計算食譜的材料量 A:   No. Only the recipe is for four person. The picture does not have to be.
Q:比賽時是否可以攜帶模具? Q:   Can I bring molds into the competition?
A:可以,一並列在需外帶的器材清單中 A:   Yes, but only if it is on the list of equipments you declared to bring in.
Q:介於食材和器具間的東西(例:液態氮)是否可以攜帶? Q:   Some things can be used as ingredient or equipment- such as liquid nitrogen.   Are these things allowed to be brought in?
A:國際競賽規則已經修正,所以這類型的物品是不能攜帶的,希望參賽者多多利用現場所提供的食材製作出各位想要呈現的菜品,若有類似的物品要攜帶請列在申請單上填寫由評審團審核決定是否能攜帶 A:   No. Though some time ago international competition may have allowed equipment   such as this to be used in competitions, now this has changed. Equipements   such as this will no longer be allowed.
2 廖先生 Q:參賽資格是否需要有比賽經驗才可以參加? Q:   Do you have to have previous competiting experieince to enter this   competition?
A: 並非一定. 但是因為有比賽過的經驗在書審中有佔20%, 所以有一定的優勢 A:   Not necessarily. But since previous competiting experience is 20% on the   application screening, so it’s definitely an advantage.
3 魏先生 Q:是否可以使用其他花草等食材或裝飾在書審的菜餚中? Q:   Can I used flowers or herbs in the application recipe?
A: 可以 A:   YES
Q:書審的菜餚是否必須出現在初賽中? Q:   Must the dish in the application appear in the preliminary competition?
A: 不需要 A:   No

Q:   If I am in Taiwan using student visa, can I still enter?
A: 可以 A:   Yes.
5 林育正 Q:因為這次是職人組的比賽,敝人已轉往教育界發展,所以我的搭擋可否是以前的同事,然後一起報名 以一家飯店或學校或協會名稱報名可以嗎,是否有資格認證的問題~~ Q:   Because this competition qualification is for professionals, but I have since   moved into the educational field. Can I partner up with my ex-coworkers and   enter this competition?
A: 只要是報名的單位有認可您與您的夥伴是代表此單位報名即可. A:   As long as the organization recognizes you and your partner as representative   for the organization.
6 陳俊杉 Q:是否在書審的菜色有使用美國食材的比例考量? Q:   In the application- what is the accepted ratio of using US ingredients?
A: 適用80%以上 A:   80%
Q:書審的配料是否有侷限那些?  (類似3″魏先生"提問) Q:   What are the limitations of common ingredients used in the application?
A: 沒有限制 A:   No Limit
Q:調味料也是以黑盒子的方式進行? 這樣設定菜是以猜測的方式先進行? Q:   Are the common ingredients also unknow?
A: 調味料與指定食材都會在3/25 號賽前說明會中一起公布 A:   The common ingredients will be released on 3/25, the same day as the   mandatory ingredients.
7 許家宏 Q:書審的菜色是否要很豐富才會入選?  是使用在初賽的菜嗎?(類似3″魏先生"提問) Q:   Does the recipe provided in the application have to be very complicated to be   considered? Does the dish have to appear in the preliminary competition? NO
A: 食譜需要清楚的描述使用食材的數量以及製作方式即可. 提供的食譜並非一定使用在初賽. A:   Recipe must indicate ingredients used and method of preparation
Q:書審資料是否也要有英文做填寫? Q:   Does the application have to be in English?
A: 並非一定. 但是如果沒有自己翻譯就由執行單位協助翻譯, 而無法由參賽者自己確保正確性. Yes   but not compulsory.  If you turn in   Chinese application, the organizer will assist in   translating.
